From September 28 to September 29, 2014, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council held a grand convening conference of the Central People's Government and the sixth national celebration of national unity and progress in Beijing. The General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of the State Council, Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping and the Politburo of the Central Committee All the members of the Standing Committee attended the meeting. Secretary General Xi delivered an important speech, and presented prizes for model groups and model personal representatives who were honored and took photos with everyone. Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, read out the "Decision of the State Council on Commemorating the Model Unity and Model Individual of the National Unity and Progress of the Whole Country," and commended 678 model groups and 818 model individuals throughout the country. Comrade Hu Xiaojiang, chairman of the US-based Mecca Group, was the model personal representative of Hebei Province. He attended the conference and received a cordial reception from the central leadership.
